Records Release to send records to a new provider

February 16, 2014

Dear WellSPRing Clients and Friends,

As promised, I have penned this letter to define what the future holds for our practice.  While I have, with your help, developed a very successful organization and model for care, the current climate in health care is oppressive at best, making the continuation of all that we are untenable.  There is not a moment that passes when the health of you and WellSPRing are not in the forefront of my mind.  While I love everything about what we have created together, it is neither healthy nor sustainable for one midwife, yet growing the practice has become impossible.

With that said, effective March 31, 2014, WellSPRing will close its doors. I have agreed to take a position with Julie Kellon, my former midwife partner, at Neighborhood Family Practice (NFP) in Cleveland, Ohio.  The address is 3569 Ridge Road, Cleveland, OH 44102
(corner of Ridge and Denison), and the phone is 216-281-0872.  I will be attending births at both Lakewood and Fairview Hospitals.  I know that it is a ride away from this region, but if you are interested in continuing care with NFP, we would be honored to serve you.

For those who choose to maintain care in the Orrville-Akron region, I have made arrangements with the following providers to assume care for your health. We will be happy to send records to wherever you designate with a signed release of records.

I appreciate the trust that you’ve placed in me, and the many kindnesses you have shown.  I want you to know that I trust all of the providers I’ve listed.  I would be very comfortable sending my own family to any of them.

If I can do anything for any of you, please just ask.  I will always do my best to help.  And if you don’t remember anything else I’ve ever said, please just trust your gut.  You will never be disappointed.  God don’t make mistakes!

To WellSPRing Faithful:

As most of you know, Dr. Bowden will be retiring from practice in April.  This has left a great unknown for us here at WellSPRing regarding actual space for practice.

Over the weekend, it became clear that we will need to take some significant action.  It remains to be seen if this action will include the preservation of WellSPRing as we know it.  The only certainty at this time is that as of March 31, 2014, WellSPRing will not be doing business at 1392 N. High St., Suite 210, Wadsworth, Ohio, 44281.

Some of the scenarios that exist include moving the office, merging a practice, selling to a practice and even closing our doors.  Should the latter occur, we will be contacting each and every one of you with alternatives for care.

As of this moment, we will no longer be taking new clients for service.  This is to protect you all from the strains of entering care with one provider and having to change to another.

While it is our sincere hope that we can navigate this change without too much anxiety (for you and for us), the reality today is that health care is a treacherous path for any single provider.  A midwife is swimming against a particularly strong current.

We want to assure you that we are working feverishly to achieve a resolution to this uncertainty.    Information will be available on our website as soon as it becomes available.

If you have concerns or worries, please don’t hesitate to call our office at 330-334-9355. If you choose to transfer your care to another practice, please complete the Release of Records that can be found on our website, www.wellspringwomenshealth.com.  This can then be faxed to either 330-334-6303 until March 31, 2014 or to 330-722-8782.

With empathy and thanks,

Sue Hudson, MSN, CNM

WellSPRing Women's Health

Welcome to WellSPRing Women's Health.

If you are looking for a midwife in the Wadsworth area, we welcome you to our practice.

Finding healthcare you can count on is a hard thing today.  For many reasons, we often just don’t feel like we are being heard when we interact with those we’ve entrusted our health to.  That’s not something you should feel at WellSPRing.

As partners in your care, we will listen to you, guide you, and advocate for you.  We will establish rules for you and for us, so that we are a team whose aim is to help you to lead a full, healthy life:  one that can serve as a model for your family and friends.

One of the things that is a hallmark of WellSPRing is mutual respect.  We know that you have distinct ideas about your health.  We appreciate that there are sometimes things in life that keep you from achieving optimal health.  We will listen to these ideas and barriers and help you coordinate them to get the best possible results.  Sometimes, the best thing for improving your well-being includes getting referrals outside of WellSPRing.  We have a strong group of collaborating professionals who share our passion for helping you attain good health and we are grateful for their support in your care.

Achieving wellness is a two way street.  We love to see you at the height of good health.  To get there, you have to help us, too.  We expect our clients to have the interest in their own care that we have.  We expect our clients to make healthy choices about their lives.  This means that we want you to avoid obviously harmful behaviors, to eat well, to get lots of exercise, to rest, and to respect yourself.

We know that the road to wellness is hard to travel today.  We solidly believe that when the road is traveled together, the journey seems shorter.

It is our hope that we can make your journey smooth and quick.  We aspire to be your partner in care.  We are honored for the opportunity

We've created this website to provide you with the knowledge you need to make the best decisions related to family planning, pregnancy, and your quality of life. It contains a robust array of content about well-woman care, pregnancy planning, labor, childbirth, postpartum and well-woman care, as well as important information about our office, including staff bios, directions and patient forms. We encourage you to contact our office to schedule an appointment.

Our team looks forward to providing you with the personalized midwifery care you deserve for a lifetime of wellness.
